Graphics notes from Gordon Wallis: Paul already had the game well in progress by the time I got involved, having got in touch with Alternative pitching myself as a graphic artist keen to work on the Spectrum. I did a draft of all the sprites, tiles and the surrounding panel, aiming to keep it as close to the look of the C64 version as possible and include a bit more colour, where Paul's stuff was quite different and minimised colour usage. Rufus himself is 100% my version, though other graphics in the final game are either Paul's own work or amendments to mine (I didn't leave room for sprite masks on a lot of them!). The surrounding panel is broadly mine, but some of my embellisments were removed (electronic component details, and the borders were originally different colours) and replaced with others (additional shading everywhere, the double-twist at the top). The game's font is mine also, derived from the C64 version but with a few tweaks and some characters created from scratch if they weren't shown the the VHS tapes I was sent to work from.

Dean recalls: "The Title SCREEN$ for Rik The Roadie features a digi-capture of (at the time) my future wife - pretending to play a guitar (don't think it was a guitar - reckon it was at the most a broom handle)."
